ABIDE 365

Privacy Policy

Effective September 15, 2026

Short version: Abide works without an account, advertising, analytics, or tracking. Notes, devotional reflections, prayer requests, favorites, and progress remain on your device. If you choose to enable daily push reminders, only the technical information needed to deliver that reminder is stored remotely.

Information we collect

Abide does not require your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or an account. The app does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, social tracking pixels, or behavioral tracking.

Information stored on your device

To provide its private features, Abide stores notes, devotional reflections, prayer requests and answered status, completion history, favorites, appearance settings, and reminder preferences locally on your device. Your note text, prayer text, journal entries, favorites, and completion history are not uploaded by the push reminder system.

Notifications

If you enable Daily devotional notification, Abide asks the operating system for notification permission and creates a Web Push subscription. To deliver your chosen daily reminder even while the app is closed, the server stores the browser push endpoint and encryption keys supplied by your browser, your selected reminder time, your device timezone, and basic delivery status such as the last date a reminder was sent. This data is used only to deliver the reminder. Turning the reminder off removes the subscription from the reminder database and unsubscribes the browser when possible.

Data deletion and export

You can export a copy of your locally stored app data from Settings. You can also erase Abide’s local data from Settings. Uninstalling the app may also remove app data according to your device platform’s behavior and backup settings.

Service providers

The app does not send your notes, journal entries, or prayer content to third parties. When push reminders are enabled, Abide uses Netlify Blobs to store the limited push subscription record and a Netlify Scheduled Function to trigger reminder delivery. The browser’s push service (for example, Apple, Google, or Mozilla infrastructure depending on your device) transports the notification. The devotional library and the “What do you need today?” Scripture finder use the public-domain World English Bible stored with the app. If you choose KJV in the Bible reader, chapter text is requested from a public Bible service and is not used for advertising or profile building by Abide.

Children

Abide is a general-audience devotional app and is not designed to collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes should be reflected in the app and store listing before a new version is released.
